2024 - 2025 REPRESENTATIVE AND COMMITTEE CHAIR POSITIONS
MEMBERS WANTED!!
PACO has a variety of leadership roles as a Representative or Committee Chair that are for a one-year term. These positions are a vital part in managing the ongoing processes for PACO. The PACO Executive Board will vote on these positions from applications submitted.
Representative positions are:
Public Relations Representative - As PR Rep, you are tasked with the awesomeness of planning a fantastic Paralegal Day (with the assistance of a committee!) each May along with other PR events for PACO.
NFPA Representative - As NFPA Representative your duties include promoting the NFPA benefits to the PACO membership and working with other national associations to help promote the paralegal profession. You attend the Annual NFPA conference, telephonic meetings, and other NFPA Representative meetings throughout the year.
Statewide Representative/NFPA Secondary Representative - The Statewide Rep attends bi-annual meetings with the Ohio State Bar Association conversing with other paralegal associations to help promote the paralegal profession. This position also includes duties as the NFPA Secondary Representative, which supports the NFPA Primary Representative in their role by attending meetings, telephonic meetings, and the NFPA Annual Conference.
Student Liaison Representative - The Student Liaison Rep promotes the benefits of PACO and NFPA to potential and current student paralegals throughout the various paralegal programs in Central Ohio.
Committee Chair positions are:
Job Bank Committee - The Job Bank Chair facilitates the submissions from employers of open paralegal positions to be announced to the Membership so PACO members are aware of employment opportunities.
Pro Bono Committee - The Pro Bono Chair schedules PACO pro bono activities in the community.
Program Committee - The Programs Chair is tasked with planning and coordinating the monthly General Membership Meetings and Legal Insights Sessions.
Mentoring Committee - The Mentoring Chair pairs up senior mentors with junior paralegal and paralegal student mentees as a way for senior paralegals to pay it forward.
Elections Committee - The Elections Chair handles the elections process every year. The Election Committee facilitates the application process for Board positions and the Representative and Committee positions available each term.
Bylaws Committee - The Bylaws Chair maintains the current regulations and policies for PACO and performs an annual review of the documents for revisions that may be needed.
Sub-Committees Available:
There are also PACO sub-committees available that are appointed by the Executive Board or the Chairperson of that particular committee. The positions stated below do not require an application. If you are interested in any of the positions you can contact the Elections Committee chair at the email stated below and your interest will be forwarded to the appropriate person.
Social Media & Website Sub-Committee - This subcommittee, established by the Public Relations Committee, maintains, updates, and monitors PACO’s social media accounts, including Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and PACO’s website.
OSBA Paralegal Certification Exam Study Group Sub-Committee - This sub-committee, established by the Mentoring Committee, shall meet periodically to prepare for the annual OSBA Paralegal Certification Exam.
PACO Biennial Workshop & Exhibition Sub-Committee - This sub-committee, established by the Public Relations Committee, is responsible for the planning and execution of the PACO Biennial Workshop & Exhibition event biennially in September.
Photography Sub-Committee - The Photography Sub-committee will photograph PACO events based on availability.

2024 - 2026 ELECTIONS FOR SELECT BOARD POSITIONS
PACO is seeking members who are interested in leadership roles for their peers and the association! Below are the PACO leadership positions that we are currently accepting applications for.
*NOTE: The Installation of the above PACO Executive Board positions will be held in-person on June 18, 2024.
BOARD POSITIONS
PACO has three elected Executive Board positions available: (i) President-Elect, (ii) Vice President, and (iii) Treasurer. The term for each of these positions is July 1, 2024-June 30, 2026. The duties of these Board positions are stated below:
President-Elect - As President-Elect, you will work closely with the current President and learn the roles and responsibilities to ensure continuity for the following term of July 1, 2024-June 30, 2026. President-Elect will also attend monthly Executive Board meetings.
Vice President- The Vice President shall preside in the absence of the President; shall be responsible for the organization of all committees, including soliciting committee chairpersons for all committees not chaired by elected officers. The Vice President shall also be chairperson of the Membership Committee; review and process all new applications for Memberships and present the same to the Executive Board for consideration; upon request, present to the Executive Board a report that quantifies PACO’s Membership by Membership category; provide an updated roster of PACO Members to NFPA on a quarterly basis in the format specified by NFPA. The Vice President shall also provide a list of eligible voting members for general election meetings.
Treasurer- As Treasurer, you will collect membership dues, Sustaining Member annual fees and all monies of PACO; make distributions by check or card, signed by the Treasurer or President; keep an account of all receipts and disbursements, provide monthly reports, make a biennial report at the Annual Installation Meeting; and deposit the funds in such bank as the Executive Board may direct. The Treasurer is also responsible for overseeing the biennial independent audit and maintaining adequate server service and domain registration.
